Christmas gift for a nephew, niece or godchild: how to get it right
When you do not see the child every day, it can be hard to get it right. You do not quite know what the child has, and the parents may not have room for more. That is why it is wise to choose a gift that can be used in many ways and that the child has to do something with.
Three things make the choice easier. If you are a grandparent, you can also read our blog about Christmas gifts from grandparents.
1. Ask the parents first
Ask about age and what the child already has. That avoids duplicates, and the parents can tell you if a set is missing. Crateit Town and Crateit Roomies are recommended for ages 5-9 and suitable from age 3.
2. Choose by what the child loves
- Loves call-outs and role play: The Fire Station (72 pieces) or The Police Station (80 pieces).
- Loves furnishing: The Bubble Nest (78 pieces, bathroom and bedroom) or The Cloud Office (94 pieces, office and balcony).
- Loves cars and roads: The City Gas Station (32 pieces) or Rule the Roundabout (24 pieces).
- Do not know the child well: Bus Adventures (DKK 49) is a small gift that fits into Crateit Town.
3. Give something that can grow
A set in Crateit Town can be followed by more, so next Christmas you know what to add. Our blog about toys for 5 to 8-year-olds describes how all the sets fit together. The markers go on layer by layer, so the set can get new colours, and they come with a 3 mm tip (DKK 129) and a 1 mm tip (DKK 99) as Crateit markers.
What should the gift cost?
That is up to you. There are small gifts from DKK 49, medium ones like The City Gas Station (DKK 329) and large ones like The Fire Station (DKK 499). Free shipping applies to orders over DKK 499. See all gifts by price in the Christmas gift guide, and see combined suggestions on the page gifts under DKK 500.

Frequently asked questions
What should an aunt or uncle give for Christmas?
Ask the parents about the child's age and what the child already has. If the child is 5-9, a set in Crateit Town or Crateit Roomies is a good choice, because it comes in uncoloured wood and can be added to later.
What age are the sets for?
Crateit Town and Crateit Roomies are recommended for ages 5-9 and suitable from age 3. The other sets, for example the dinosaurs in Quest and the unicorns in Stella, have their own age shown on the product page.
Can the child assemble it alone?
The parts click together without glue or tools, and an assembly guide is included. The product pages recommend that children up to age 5 assemble together with an adult.
When should we order before Christmas?
We ship from our own warehouse in Odense with GLS, and delivery takes 1-3 working days. For delivery in Denmark before Christmas, order by Thursday 17 December.
Can we return the gift?
Yes, there is a 14-day right of return.
