Christmas gift for a 5-year-old: a town or a dollhouse they build themselves
Five-year-olds want to do things themselves. They can assemble more, stay with a game for longer and have plenty of ideas about how things should look. That is why Crateit Town and Crateit Roomies suit this age so well. Both ranges are recommended for ages 5-9, and the child builds, colours and plays with everything themselves.
Everything comes in uncoloured wood. The parts click together without glue or tools, and when the play changes, you can colour over it and give it new colours.
The Fire Station: the big gift
The Fire Station in Crateit Town has 72 pieces and 3 wooden vehicles and measures 60 × 28 cm assembled. There is room for a fire engine and a helicopter, and there is always a fire to put out. It is a set the child can spend many afternoons with.
Crateit Roomies: dollhouses room by room
Crateit Roomies are wooden dollhouses where every set is two rooms across two floors, with furniture and a figure in the box. Couch & Crayons has a living room and a playroom, Emma and a rocking horse (145 pieces, 52 cm tall). Breakfast in Bed has a kitchen and a bedroom and Camilla (152 pieces, 52 cm tall). The Bubble Nest has a bathroom and a bedroom with a slide and a skateboard, and Max (78 pieces). The Cloud Office has an office and a balcony, and Thomas (94 pieces, 38 cm tall). Every room can get its own colour.
Make the town bigger
Crateit Town grows set by set. The City Gas Station comes with a car, and Around The Mountain is a road with bends, hills and two cars. For the stocking there are small sets such as Thunder Truck, the bus and the road signs.
Remember the markers
The wood comes uncoloured, so put a set of Crateit markers with the gift. Then the child can get started straight away.
How to choose
- The child who loves call-outs and cars: the Fire Station.
- The child who loves furnishing and playing family: a Roomies dollhouse, such as Couch & Crayons or Breakfast in Bed.
- If the child already has Crateit Town: the City Gas Station or Around The Mountain, so the town gets bigger.
- A small extra: a car or the road signs.
