Christmas gift for a girl: a house, a castle or a fairy tale she builds herself

The best Christmas gift for a girl is what she loves to play. If it is furnishing rooms, looking after unicorns or making up fairy tales, a wooden set that she assembles and colours herself is a good fit. Then the gift is both something to build and something to play with afterwards, with no screen and no batteries.

Every set comes in uncoloured wood, and the parts click together without glue or tools. The sets are not made for a particular gender, and you can read more in our blog about gender-neutral toys. Here is an overview by interest.

If she loves furnishing: Roomies

Crateit Roomies are wooden dollhouses where every set is two rooms across two floors, with furniture and a figure in the box. Couch & Crayons has a living room and a playroom, Emma and a rocking horse (145 pieces). Breakfast in Bed has a kitchen and a bedroom and Camilla (152 pieces). The Bubble Nest has a bathroom and a bedroom and Max (78 pieces). The Cloud Office has an office and a balcony and Thomas (94 pieces). Read what furniture comes with the houses and how to choose a wooden dollhouse.

If she loves unicorns: Stella

Dreamland Castle is a castle with 102 pieces and 8 figures, 42 × 30 cm assembled, recommended from age 5. Candy Land has 35 pieces and 3 unicorns, 31 × 30 cm assembled, recommended from age 6. Rainbow Friends is five unicorns in 18 pieces, recommended from age 5. All belong to Crateit Stella.

If she loves fairy tales

Seashell Shore is a mermaid shore with 33 pieces and 2 mermaids, 30 × 40 cm assembled, recommended from age 6. The little figure The Tinder Box (the soldier from the H.C. Andersen fairy tale) has 5 pieces and is recommended from age 4. Both belong to Crateit Fairytale.

Small gifts on the side

For a little extra gift there are the small unicorns Juni (DKK 49) and Rosemary (DKK 49). The age is shown on the product page.

Remember the markers

The wood is uncoloured, so put a set of Crateit markers with the gift. They come with a 3 mm tip for large surfaces (DKK 129) and 1 mm for details (DKK 99), six markers in each set. Read how to colour wooden toys with markers.

Frequently asked questions

Is Crateit made for boys or girls?

The sets are not made for a particular gender. The child's own interests decide whether a fire station, a dollhouse, a dinosaur or a unicorn is the best fit.

What age are the sets for?

Crateit Town and Crateit Roomies are recommended for ages 5-9 and suitable from age 3. The other sets, for example the dinosaurs in Quest and the unicorns in Stella, have their own age shown on the product page.

Can Town and Roomies be used together?

Yes. Roomies can be combined with Crateit Town, so the dollhouse becomes part of a whole town.

Do we need markers?

Yes, the sets come in uncoloured wood. Crateit markers go on layer by layer, so you can colour over them again when the play changes.

When should we order before Christmas?

We ship from our own warehouse in Odense with GLS, and delivery takes 1-3 working days. For delivery in Denmark before Christmas, order by Thursday 17 December.
