Wooden toy town to colour in: build it, colour it, colour it again
Crateit Town is a wooden toy town where the child chooses the colours. Everything arrives in uncoloured wood, the parts click together without glue or tools, and the markers go on layer by layer. The day the fire station has to be blue, it is blue. Next summer it can be green with red details.
Here is the overview: what is in the two buildings, how to get from uncoloured wood to a finished town, and how the town can grow set by set.
Four steps: build, colour, play, colour again
- Build: the assembly guide is included, and the pieces click together without glue or tools.
- Colour: everything arrives in bare wood, and the child picks every colour. There are no wrong choices.
- Play: no screen, no batteries and no right way to do it.
- Recolour: the markers cover the old layer, so the same toy can become a new story as often as you like.
Two buildings to start with
The Fire Station has 72 pieces and measures 60 × 28 cm assembled. There is room for a helicopter and a fire engine, and road pieces are included so the fire engine can drive all the way to the scene. Most parents are done assembling it in 20-40 minutes.
The Police Station has 80 pieces and measures 74 × 29 cm assembled. It comes with a watchtower, police cars, a police motorcycle and a police truck, and the same station can tell two completely different stories. Most parents are done in 20-30 minutes.
Which markers to colour with
Crateit makes its own markers in five colour families (Nature, Forest, Pastel, Playful and Wonderland) and two nib sizes. The 1 mm nib is for details such as signs, windows and names, and the 3 mm nib is for whole surfaces such as facades and roofs. The product pages recommend starting with 3 mm Playful for the facades and 1 mm Nature for the details. The markers are sold separately, and you will find them under Crateit Markers.

The car park has 40 pieces and three cars, and the road signs are 20 pieces with 10 signs.
