Danish wooden toys, developed in Odense

Crateit is a Danish toy brand from Odense. We make wooden toys that can be built, coloured and played with again and again. Here you can see what is Danish about the sets and how they fit together.

Developed in Odense

The toys are drawn and developed in Odense. The Fire Station and Police Station in Crateit Town and the four dollhouses in Crateit Roomies are designed and made in Denmark. The other Crateit Town sets are designed in Denmark. It says so on each product page.

Made at sheltered workshops in Denmark

The Fire Station, the Police Station and the Roomies sets are made at sheltered Danish workshops, where adults with special needs handle assembly and packing. Every set carries a story of craft, care and community. Read more in the blog post who makes Crateit toys and on the about us page.

Built to be coloured

The sets arrive in uncoloured wood, so the child gives the toy its colour. The parts click together without glue or tools, and when the play changes you can colour over it again with Crateit markers. There are no buttons, no app and no sound, and the play comes from the child.

Two worlds to start with

Crateit Town is a wooden town that grows set by set. The Fire Station has 72 pieces and measures 60 × 28 cm assembled, and the Police Station has 80 pieces and measures 74 × 29 cm. All Crateit Town buildings and road pieces are designed to fit together.

Crateit Roomies are wooden dollhouses where every set is two rooms across two floors with furniture and a figure: Couch & Crayons, Breakfast in Bed, The Bubble Nest and The Cloud Office. Roomies is a modular system, so the houses can be built and stacked on top of each other.
